

Recreating the analog signal flow of a recording studio, this effect delivers the warm imperfections of the analog mixing process. Including detailed simulations of a 2-inch 24-track tape recorder (with control over tape speed and saturation) feeding into one of three world-class consoles (SSL 4000G®, Trident 88®, Neve 80 Series®), it brings loads of analog character to anything you run through it.
PAGE ONE CONTROLS (TAPE MACHINE)
- ON/OFF
Selects whether or not to insert the tape machine in the path.
- SATURATION
Controls the amount of tape saturation.
Range: –24 dB to +24 dB
- TAPE SPEED
Selects the tape speed.
-Lower speeds have better low frequency response with more tape hiss.
-Higher speeds reduce tape hiss and have a more balanced frequency spectrum.
30, 15, or 7.5 ips (inches per second)
- OVER BIAS
Adding an AC bias to the signal can increase the stability of a tape recording. Over-biasing is the act of adding a +3 dB ultrasonic signal that engineers have often used to prevent artifacts and alter the fidelity of the recording.
- WOW
Tape machines are mechanical and inherently have minute amounts of fluctuation in the playback speed, which is a huge part of the sonic vibe that we love about analog recording gear. This knob controls how much of the fluctuation is introduced for realism.

- FLUTTER
In addition to fluctuation in the playback speed, the mechanical nature of tape machines cause minute amounts modulation of the frequency response. This knob controls how much modulation is introduced for realism.

PAGE TWO CONTROLS (MIXING CONSOLE)
- ON/OFF
Selects whether or not to insert the console in the path.
- INPUT
Adjusts the input level and how much the console’s sound is mixed in.
Range: –6 dB ~ +6 dB
- MODEL
Selects the classic mixing console model.
-The S4000 has an aggressive, present tone.
-The n80 has a warmer sound.
-The T88 has a strong low presence with definition.
- MIC PRE
Enables mic-pre transformer modeling.
- TOLERANCES
Analog consoles have thousands of electronic parts that accumulate heat and can react with subtle sonic imperfections. This switch engages component-level modeling that introduces these little flaws into the signal for realism.
- FADER
Adjusts the output level.
