Host Automation
In Bitwig, you can set up the Omnisphere FX Rack plug-in to allow for your host to automate its parameters. The procedure is the same whether you are loading the Omnisphere FX Rack as an insert on an audio or an instrument track. For this example, we will use an audio track.
If you don’t already have an audio track you’d like to effect, select Add > Add Audio Track from the menu bar to create an audio track, as shown below:
Click the magnifying glass button in the bottom-right corner of Bitwig to open the Browser Panel.
Search for “FX-Omnisphere” in the Browser Panel and double-click the “FX-Omnisphere” device to add an instance as an insert on the audio track.
Open the “FX-Omnisphere” interface and either add an individual FX unit or load a Rack preset.
Right-click on the parameter you want to automate and select “Enable Host Automation.”
Click the small “Show/Hide Automation” drop-down button, located in the lower right corner of the audio track.
Click the small down arrow in the automation section to reveal the parameters list.
Navigate the menu to “FX-Omnisphere” and locate the parameter for which automation was enabled.
NOTE: The only parameter names that will be visible are the parameters that you have selected “enable host automation” on. If you do not see your parameter as an option, please open FX-Omnisphere and ensure you have selected “Enable Host Automation” on the parameter.
The automation lane will show the name of the parameter that can be automated within the lane.
