SOUND MATCH is a powerful browsing feature that lets you explore the library differently, since it allows you to instantly locate related sounds with just one click.

After loading a sound, you might want to search for related sounds to see if they might work better in a track. Selecting MATCH instantly gives you all the sounds that are similar by analyzing the tags, and finds ones with comparable characteristics.

Pressing the Match button switches the browser to a view where the following happens:

  • The Directory menu switches to “View All Directories”
  • The Category menu switches to “All.”
  • The “Sort” menu in the Footer is not available.
  • All the similar sounds in your libraries will show up in the results list.

The higher in the list, the more closely related the sound.

On the Full Browser, the match “strength” is shown to the right of each sound with a solid bar. As you select other sounds, you can find matches for them by pressing “Match Current Selection” to update your results.

NOTE: Pressing “Match Current Selection” again with the same Patch loaded will shuffle the order of the sounds while keeping them in their “strength” order.

As you select other sounds, you can find matches for them by pressing “Match Current Selection” to update your results.

Once you’ve clicked and loaded a sound, you can click the Info Button in the Patch Name Display to determine its location.

Beyond just finding similar sounds, Match can be an exploratory tool, guiding you towards new sounds that you might not have otherwise considered — ones that fit well with your existing sound selection.
