Given the large amount of sounds in Omnisphere, after having selected a library via the Directory menu, we recommend selecting a Category to narrow your results.
The default behavior of the Patch browser is to make Directory and Category selections a requirement. We believe that making these two choices will help you navigate the libraries and find the sounds you are after faster than ever.
Browsing Patches: Categories and Sub-Categories
Each Omnisphere factory patch library can have thousands of sounds, so we made sure to give you the tools you need to quickly find what you’re looking for. One very important aspect of selecting a Category is the ability to dive deeper within it and select a Sub-Category.
For example, if you are a producer looking for an 808 bass, you could do the following:
- From the Directory menu, select the “Electronic Production” library
- From the Category menu, select “Bass Sounds,” and then the “Bass 808” Sub-Category.
As a result of these simple actions, the list of sounds is narrowed down to a manageable amount, and best of all, everything you’ll hear will match the criteria of the choices you made. If you need to narrow down the list even more, you can always use Search or the Browser Filters.
