Classic Tube Filters

Modeled after the Pultec HLF-3C®, this seemingly simple filter hides a few tricks under its sleeve. In addition to being a great LPF/HPF, the detailed circuit-modeling allows you to color the sound even when no filtering is applied. Choose between two tube saturation types and adjust the amount using the Clipper control, which works especially well for adding punch and definition to transients.

CONTROLS

• INPUT

  Controls the input gain. At higher settings, harmonics are introduced by non-linear components of the model.
  Range: –15 dB ~ +15 dB

• HEAT / WARMTH
  This control switches between two types of saturation.


• CLIPPER

  When tubes are overloaded, even slightly, they add harmonic distortion to the signal. This controls how much simulated harmonic distortion is added.

• LOW CUT [HIGH PASS FILTER]

  Controls the filter cutoff frequency.
  Range: 20 Hz ~ 1.7 kHz

• HI CUT [LOW PASS FILTER]

  Controls the filter cutoff frequency.
  Range: 1.7 kHz ~ 20 kHz

• OUTPUT

  Adjusts the output level.
  Range: –15dB ~ +15dB
