Classic Tube Midband

Modeled after the Pultec MEQ-5®, it was built to shape frequencies between 200Hz and 7kHz. With two boosting and one attenuation band, it adds a unique musical color to anything that lives in the mid-range, like keyboards, guitars, and vocals. Set it to “Ultra” for high fidelity, or enhance transients with the special “Heat” mode.

• [PEAK 1] BOOST
  
Increases the amount of gain for the selected frequency.
  Range: 0 dB ~ +12 dB

• [PEAK 1] FREQ
  Selects the frequency to be boosted.

• [DIP] ATTEN

  Decreases the amount of gain for the selected frequency.
  Range: 0 dB ~ –10 dB

• [DIP] FREQ
  
Selects the frequency to be attenuated by the [DIP] ATTEN control.
  200, 300, 500, 700, 1k, 1.5k, 2k, 3k, 4k, 5k, 7k Hz

• [PEAK 2] BOOST
  
Increases the amount of gain for the selected frequency.
  Range: 0 dB ~ +12 dB

• [PEAK 2] FREQ
  Selects the frequency to be boosted.

• INPUT
  
Controls the input gain. At higher settings, harmonics are introduced by non-linear components of the model.
  Range: –15 dB ~ +15 dB

• HEAT / WARMTH
  
This control switches between two types of saturation.

• OUTPUT
  Controls the output gain.
  Range: –15 dB ~ +15 dB

• ULTRA / HQ
  Engages internal oversampling for the effect when ULTRA is selected.

HARMONICS

  Harmonic distortion is introduced when inputs are overloaded and tube “saturation” occurs. The brightness of the light represents how much harmonic distortion is present.
