MIDI Learn
In Cubase, you can set the Omnisphere FX Rack plug-in to receive MIDI from your MIDI controller. The procedure is the same whether you are loading the Omnisphere FX Rack plug-in as an insert on an audio or instrument track. For this example, we will use an audio track.
First, select Project > Add Track > Audio Track from the menu bar to create an audio track, as shown below:

Next, we’ll add “FX-Omnisphere” as an insert on the audio track. To start, select “Studio” from the menu bar and then click on “MixConsole in Project Window.”

In the MixConsole section, click on an empty Insert slot that’s located on your Audio Track.

Type “FX-Omnisphere” in the search field, and then select the “FX-Omnisphere” plug-in.

Next, select Project > Add Track > MIDI Track from the menu bar to create a MIDI track. Then, you will see an Add Track setup window, as shown below:

In the setup window for the MIDI track, in the MIDI input drop-down, choose the MIDI controller that you would like to control the Omnisphere FX Rack plug-in as the MIDI Input:

Next, select MIDI Output. Then choose the “FX-Omnisphere – MIDI Input” for the audio track on which the Omnisphere FX Rack Plug-in is located, as shown below:

NOTE: If you have more than one audio track or instrument track with effects on it, you may need to select FX-Omnisphere from a Side-chain drop-down menu that appears when there are multiple effects options.
Once you’ve made your MIDI Input and Output selection, select “Add Track.”

NOTE: You can also set the MIDI Input and MIDI Output in the “Routing” drop-down for your MIDI Track in the inspector.
Next, in the Project Window, select the yellow Monitor button to Activate Monitoring on both the MIDI and the Audio tracks.
NOTE: If the Monitor icon is not located on your track, you can select it from the Inspector window, in the top left corner. You can also select the Monitor button from the MixConsole area, under the Volume Fader for your track.

Open the Omnisphere FX Rack Plug-in on your Audio Track. Right-Click on the parameter that you would like to receive MIDI, and select “MIDI CC Learn” (or MIDI Note Learn). Then move the knob, fader, or press the button on your MIDI controller that you would like to control that parameter.
