Host Automation

Here are some general instructions on how to use host automation in FL Studio to control a given parameter in the Omnisphere FX plug-in:

You’ll first need to add an instance of the Omnisphere FX plug-in to an existing audio or software instrument track. Start by selecting your audio or software instrument track in the mixer, then clicking one of the empty plug-in slots (e.g., “Slot 1”) as shown below:

The plug-in selector menu will appear. Click the “More plug-ins…” option at the top of the menu:

In the “Select effect plug-in” window that appears, search “FX-Omnisphere” to quickly bring up the Omnisphere FX plug-in and select the desired plug-in format:

Right-click on a parameter in the Omnisphere FX plug-in and press “Enable Host Automation” in the contextual menu:

Next, navigate to the “Add” menu in FL Studio and select the “Automation Clip” option:

In the “Automation Clip” window that appears, press the “+” icon then move the desired parameter in Omnisphere FX:

Lastly, engage the desired steps in the Automation Clip step sequencer and draw in the desired automation in the Automation editor:

If you click “View” in the menu bar and select “Playlist,” you’ll also be able to drag your newly created automation clip onto your tracks and edit them from there:
