MIDI Learn
In FL Studio, you can set the Omnisphere FX plug-in to receive MIDI from your MIDI controller. However, you’ll first need to configure some settings in FL Studio for the MIDI messages from your controller to affect the desired parameter in the Omnisphere FX plug-in. Here are the steps needed to use MIDI Learn with the Omnisphere FX plug-in in FL Studio:
You’ll first need to add an instance of the Omnisphere FX plug-in to an existing audio or software instrument track. Start by selecting your audio or software instrument track in the mixer, then clicking one of the empty plug-in slots (e.g., “Slot 1”) as shown below:
The plug-in selector menu will appear. Click the “More plug-ins…” option at the top of the menu:
In the “Select effect plug-in” window that appears, search “FX-Omnisphere” to quickly bring up the Omnisphere FX plug-in and select the desired plug-in format:
Next, open the instance of the Omnisphere FX plug-in and press the gear icon in the top left corner of the plug-in window. Then, click the “plug-in options” button beneath it:
Next, click and drag the “Input port” box and set it to “1” (for example), as shown below:
Back in the main window of FL Studio, navigate to the “Options” menu and select “MIDI Settings:”
Underneath the MIDI “Input” area, click and drag the “Port” box so that it is set to “1” (i.e., matching the input port number of the Omnisphere FX plug-in):
NOTE: Make sure there’s a green dot next to the word “Enable” for your MIDI controller.
Re-open the Omnisphere FX plug-in, right-click on the parameter you’d like to MIDI Learn, select “MIDI CC Learn” (or MIDI Note Learn) from the contextual menu, and move the hardware control on your MIDI controller to create the assignment:
