The central part of the FILTER ZOOM section contains controls that are common to both Filters. Here you can route the two Filters in parallel or series and place them before or after the Amplifier.

The CUTOFF, RES, VARIANT, KEY, ENV, and GAIN controls mirror those in the Filter section on the LAYER pages. Any changes made to these controls are reflected on both pages.

SERIES / PARALLEL

When Omnisphere’s two Filters are in “Series,” the output of FILTER 1 is feeding into FILTER 2 and affects the character of FILTER 2 and the MIX control is not in use. “Parallell“ indicates the two Filters are both working, but they are not directly affecting each other—they are operating side-by-side and being mixed together. The MIX controls the balance between the two.

MIX

In Parallel mode, each of the two Filters pass through the Filter Mixer, and the MIX control determines how much of each filter is heard. Centering the slider will allow both Filters to be heard equally, and moving it to the right or left will favor one over the other.

Range 100.00 to 00.100 (50.50 is the center point)

MIX is modulatable.

SATURATION

The filter section features authentic component-modeled filter saturation. Using the SATURATION slider, you can add warm analog coloration by introducing pleasant-sounding non-linearities and harmonic distortion to the signal.

NOTE: The SATURATION setting is not saved in Filter presets.

PRE GAIN

The PRE GAIN fader adjusts the input level to the Filter section. It can be used to compensate for the low level of the signal you are processing, or, in combination with Saturation, to change the filter’s character by pushing its input.

Range between – inf (0) and +9.54.dB

NOTE: The PRE GAIN setting is not saved in Filter presets.

POST GAIN

The POST GAIN fader adjusts the output level of the Filter section.

Range between – inf (0) and +9.54.dB
