Including an Ultra HQ mode for high-resolution, you’ll find this high-end unit essential for processing any source!
PAGE ONE CONTROLS
- INPUT
Controls the input gain. At higher settings, harmonics are introduced by non-linear components of the model.
Range: –15 dB ~ +15 dB
- LOW
Adjusts the gain for the LO FREQ on Page 2.
Range: –12 dB ~ +12 dB
- MID
Adjusts the gain for the MID FREQ on Page 2.
Range: –12 dB ~ +12 dB
- HIGH
Adjusts the gain for the HI FREQ on Page 2.
Range: –12 dB ~ +12 dB
- EQ MODEL
Selects the EQ model between API, NEVE, and PULTEC.
- OUTPUT
Adjusts the output level.
Range: –15 dB to +15 dB
PAGE TWO CONTROLS
- ULTRA / HQ
Engages internal oversampling for the effect when ULTRA is selected.
- LO FREQ
Sets the frequency that is reduced or increased by the corresponding control on Page 1.
Range: 50 Hz ~ 400 Hz
- MID FREQ
Sets the frequency that is reduced or increased by the corresponding control on Page 1. Range: 400 Hz ~ 5 kHz
- HI FREQ
Sets the shelved frequency that is reduced or increased by the corresponding control on Page 1.
Range: 5 kHz ~ 15 kHz
ENHANCER
Back in the day when engineers recorded on tape, they were always looking for ways to reduce the inherent tape hiss. Dedicated noise reduction units were developed which encoded the signal by enhancing the existing natural harmonics. The signal was then decoded by reducing the brightness caused by those harmonics—bringing down the hiss with them. When listening back without the decoding, engineers discovered that with the natural harmonics enhanced (not synthesized, like with an “exciter”), a certain pleasing presence was added. This became a popular technique to add brilliance and definition without over-producing the sound. We have carefully modeled two of those special NR (Noise Reduction) units.
- [ENHANCER] MIX
Controls the mix of the dry signal and the one processed by the Enhancer. The number indicated is the amount of the signal that is processed.
- [ENHANCER] MODE
- 1 is based on the standard NR card for the Dolby 361.
- 2 is based on the Dolby 361 card that was designed for vocals, focusing on the mid and lower frequencies.
- 3 is based on the dbx 180.
- [ENHANCER] LEVEL
Adjusts the output level.
Range: –15 dB ~ +15 dB
