UNISON is used for making a sound richer by adding voices and nudging them slightly out of tune. Using the Global Unison DETUNE and AMOUNT sliders, you can control UNISON settings on any Patch from a single page—regardless of how the Patch is created. If Unison is not engaged on a Patch, moving the sliders will activate it automatically. If it is already engaged, the controls will affect the current settings.

These controls are assigned to the corresponding Unison parameters on each Layer using the following rules:

  • The Layers must be audible: If a Layer is disabled, or enabled but with the Layer level all the way down, that Layer’s Unison section will not be controlled by the UNISON Global Controls.

  • Depending on the Patch settings, the UNISON controls can be unipolar or bipolar.
  • They are unipolar when there is only one Layer in use or the audible Layers have identical settings, representing a 1:1 ratio with the assigned parameter.
  • The controls become bipolar when a parameter (e.g. Unison Detune) is set to a different value on different Layers. For example, if the Unison Detune on Layer A is set to .285 and on Layer B it’s set to .499, the Global Controls Unison Detune slider will be a bipolar offset of both. The detent in the middle represents the original Detune values.

NOTE: If the AMOUNT slider is all the way to the left, Unison will be turned OFF (and will save CPU).
