The JX-08 is more powerful than it meets the eye. Roland’s recreation of the classic synth from the ’80s, the JX-8P, controls two Omnisphere layers and can create interesting sounds with the hard sync and cross modulation options in the second oscillator. While it doesn’t offer all the Metal modes of the JX-03, it’s easier to use due to its bigger controls.

Roland JX-08 Strengths:

  • Classic JX-8P Vibe
  • Ultra Compact and USB-powered
  • Cross-Mod/Sync
  • Low Price
