The Roland SH-201 is a virtual analog synth from the mid 2000’s. The panel is well laid out, making it easy to program sounds, giving you control over 2 Oscillators, multiple Filter types, 3 LFOs, and FX. It doesn’t have a Mod Wheel, but if you’re OK with that and like a small, intuitive panel, it can be found at very good prices on the used market.

Roland SH-201 Strengths:

  • Intuitive Layout
  • Multiple Filter Types
  • Effects Controls
  • External Audio Processing
  • Affordable
