Setup
To control Omnisphere using the Axiom 25, you’ll need to do the following:
- Connect the Axiom 25 to your computer via USB.
- Set up the Axiom 25 to control Omnisphere.
- Enable the Axiom 25 as a MIDI input device in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).
- Activate the Axiom 25 Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.
AXIOM 25 SETUP
Omnisphere relies on the default preset named “01 GM Preset” on the Axiom 25 for external control.
- You can activate 01 GM Preset by pressing the [RECALL] button and press D#5 (the key labeled “1”).
- Then press C6 (the highest key on the keybed labeled “Enter”) to load Preset 01.
HOST CONNECTION
- Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the Axiom 25 is enabled as a MIDI input device.
OMNISPHERE SETUP
- Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
- From the drop-down menu, select “M-Audio > M-Audio Axiom 25” to activate the Axiom 25 hardware profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Not working? Here are some things to try:
- Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the Axiom 25?
- Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the Axiom 25 to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
- If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the Axiom 25 matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
- Make sure your DAW is not using the Axiom in “DirectLink Mode”. As you may already know, M-Audio’s DirectLink system requires a separate installation. However, since the DirectLink system for Axiom controllers has been discontinued for quite some time so it is most likely that you’re not using the DirectLink system. If you know that you have run the installation for the “DirectLink” software and maps for your DAW, simply make sure to not configure your Axiom in your DAW as a “DirectLink” device and only setup the Axiom as a standard MIDI controller/ device.
- Are the knobs on the Axiom 25 sending the correct MIDI CC messages to control Omnisphere? A simple way to check this is by using MIDI Monitor by Snoize or recording knob movement in your DAW.
NOTE: The Enigma editor is no longer supported or provided by M-Audio. If you don’t have access to the Enigma editor, an alternative is to factory reset the Axiom 25. However, doing so will erase all user saved presets on the Axiom. If you’d like to continue with a factory reset, please turn OFF/unplug the Axiom 25 then hold down the Patch [Up] and Patch [Down] buttons at the same time while turning the Axiom ON.
