When using the IK Multimedia iRig Keys 2 Pro to control Omnisphere, the knobs on the iRig Keys 2 Pro are assigned to the following Omnisphere parameters:

First Bank:

  • Knob 1 (CC#12) – Global Controls Cutoff
  • Knob 2 (CC#13) – Global Controls Resonance
  • Knob 3 (CC#14) – Global Controls Filter Envelope Amount
  • Knob 4 (CC#15) – Global Controls Vibrato Depth

Second Bank:

  • Knob 5 (CC#16) – Global Controls Ambience Amount
  • Knob 6 (CC#17) – Global Controls Ambience Length
  • Knob 7 (CC#18) – Global Controls Unison
  • Knob 8 (CC#19) – Global Controls Glide

Setup

To control Omnisphere using the iRig Keys 2 Pro, you’ll need to do the following:

  1. Connect the iRig Keys 2 Pro to your computer via USB.
  2. Set up the iRig Keys 2 Pro to control Omnisphere.
  3. Enable the iRig Keys 2 Pro as a MIDI input device in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).
  4. Activate the iRig Keys 2 Pro Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.

IRIG Keys 2 Pro SETUP

Omnisphere relies on the factory default settings of a User SET on the iRig Keys 2 Pro.

  • If you haven’t customized any User SET on the iRig Keys 2 Pro, then you can move on to the next steps under “HOST CONNECTION.”
  • If you have customized one of the FOUR User SETs on the iRig Keys 2 Pro, you can simply press the [SET] button until the LED of any unused SET is lit.
  • If you have customized all four User SETs then you’ll need to reporgram one of the SETs on iRig Keys 2 Pro and assign each knob to their factory default settings listed at the top of the page.

HOST CONNECTION

  • Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the iRig Keys 2 Pro is enabled as a MIDI input device.

OMNISPHERE SETUP

  • Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
  • From the drop-down menu, select “IK Multimedia > IK Multimedia iRig Keys 2 Pro” to activate the iRig Keys 2 Pro hardware profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Not working? Here are some things to try:

  • Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the iRig Keys 2 Pro?
  • Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the iRig Keys 2 Pro to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
  • If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the iRig Keys 2 Pro matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
