Setup
To control Omnisphere using the KeyLab 49 mk3, you’ll need to do the following:
- Connect the KeyLab 49 mk3 to your computer via USB.
- Set up the KeyLab 49 mk3 to control Omnisphere.
- Enable the KeyLab 49 mk3 as a MIDI input device in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).
- Activate the KeyLab 49 mk3 Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.
KEYLAB 49 MK3 SETUP
Omnisphere relies on the factory default settings of a User Template in the Keylab 49 mk3.
- If you haven’t customized any User Templates on the KeyLab mk3, then you can simply load the first User Template by pressing the [PROG] button (to the left of the drum pads), then press the [USER] button (which is the third button from the left located above the LCD screen), and select the first available User Template.
- If you have customized one of the six User Templates on the KeyLab mk3, you can simply load or create a new/ unused User Template that has not been customized.
- If you have customized all six User Templates then you’ll need to use Arturia’s MIDI Control Center to create a new User Template that is using the factory default settings for all the knobs, buttons, and sliders, and then send that User Template to the KeyLab mk3. See the list above for the MIDI CC numbers to which each knob/encoder, slider, and button should be set to in order to control Omnisphere’s parameters.
HOST CONNECTION
- Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the KeyLab 49 mk3 is enabled as a MIDI input device.
OMNISPHERE SETUP
- Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
- From the drop-down menu, select “Arturia > Arturia KeyLab 49 mk3” to activate the KeyLab 49 mk3 hardware profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Not working? Here are some things to try:
- Are the User Templates available on the KeyLab mk3? If not, you may need to connect your KeyLab mk3 to Arturia’s “MIDI Control Center” application and enable the User Templates in the “Device Settings” of the KeyLab mk3.
- Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the KeyLab 49 mk3?
- Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the KeyLab 49 mk3 to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
- If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the KeyLab 49 mk3 matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
- Is your User Template setup so that the knobs, faders, and buttons send the correct MIDI CC#s used to control Omnisphere? You can check this by reviewing the Settings on your KeyLab mk3 or connecting your KeyLab mk3 to Arturia’s MIDI Control Center application and review your User Template there.
