Setup
To control Omnisphere using the KeyLab Essential 61, you’ll need to do the following:
- Connect the KeyLab Essential 61 to your computer via USB.
- Set up the KeyLab Essential 61 to control Omnisphere.
- Enable the KeyLab Essential 61 as a MIDI input device in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).
- Activate the KeyLab Essential 61 Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.
KEYLAB ESSENTIAL 61 SETUP
Omnisphere relies on the factory default settings of a User Preset in the KeyLab Essential 61.
- If you haven’t customized any User Presets on the KeyLab Essential 61, then you can simply load the first User Preset by holding the [MAP SELECT] button and then press drum pad 1 labeled “User 1.”

- If you have customized one of the ten User Presets on the KeyLab Essential 61, you can simply load any other User Preset that has not been customized.
- If you have customized all ten User Presets then you’ll need to use Arturia’s MIDI Control Center to create a new User Preset that is using the factory default settings for all the knobs and sliders, and then send that User Preset to the KeyLab Essential 61. See the list at the top of the page for the correct MIDI CC numbers.
HOST CONNECTION
- Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the KeyLab Essential 61 is enabled as a MIDI input device.
OMNISPHERE SETUP
- Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
- From the drop-down menu, select “Arturia > Arturia KeyLab Essential 61” to activate the KeyLab Essential 61 hardware profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Not working? Here are some things to try:
- Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the KeyLab Essential 61?
- Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the KeyLab Essential 61 to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
- If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the KeyLab Essential 61 matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
- Is your User Preset setup so that the knobs and faders send the correct MIDI CC#s used to control Omnisphere? You can check this by reviewing the Settings on your KeyLab Essential 61 or connecting your KeyLab Essential 61 to Arturia’s MIDI Control Center application and review your User Preset there. See the list at the top of the page for the correct MIDI CC numbers.
