KEYLAB ESSENTIAL 61 MK3 SETUP

Omnisphere relies on the factory default settings of a User Template in the KeyLab Essential 61 mk3.

  • If you haven’t customized any User Templates on the KeyLab Essential mk3, then you can simply load the first User Template by pressing the [PROG] button until you see “User 1” displayed on the LCD screen.
  • If you have customized one of the six User Templates on the KeyLab Essential mk3, you can simply load or create a new/ unused User Template that has not been customized.
  • If you have customized all six User Templates then you’ll need to use Arturia’s MIDI Control Center to create a new User Template that is using the factory default settings for all the knobs, buttons, and sliders, and then send that User Template to the KeyLab Essential mk3. See the list at the top of the page for the correct MIDI CC numbers.

HOST CONNECTION

  • Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the KeyLab Essential 61 mk3 is enabled as a MIDI input device.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Not working? Here are some things to try:

  • Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the KeyLab Essential 61 mk3?
  • Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the KeyLab Essential 61 mk3 to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
  • If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the KeyLab Essential 61 mk3 matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
  • Are the User Templates available on the KeyLab Essential mk3? If not, you may need to connect your KeyLab Essential mk3 to Arturia’s “MIDI Control Center” application and enable the User Templates in the “Device Settings” of the KeyLab Essential mk3.
  • Is your User Template setup so that the knobs, faders, and buttons send the correct MIDI CC#s used to control Omnisphere? You can check this by reviewing the Settings on your KeyLab Essential mk3 or connecting your KeyLab Essential mk3 to Arturia’s MIDI Control Center application and review your User Template there. See the list at the top of the page for the correct MIDI CC numbers.
