Setup

To control Omnisphere using the Keystage 61, you’ll need to do the following:

  1. Connect the Keystage 61 to your computer via USB.
  2. Download and install the Korg USB-MIDI Driver.
  3. Set up the Keystage 61 to control Omnisphere.
  4. Enable the Keystage 61 as a MIDI input device in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).
  5. Activate the Keystage 61 Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.

USB DRIVER
Korg devices require a USB-MIDI Driver when connecting to any Windows operating systems or to Mac OS 10.10 through 10.14.

  • You can check to see if the necessary USB driver has already been installed by opening up the Omnisphere Standalone (or your preferred DAW) and verify the Keystage 61 is on your list of MIDI inputs.
  • If your Keystage 61 is not on your list of MIDI inputs, access the Korg website to download and install the Korg USB-MIDI Driver.

KEYSTAGE 61 SETUP

Omnisphere relies on the factory default settings of Program 0 – Scene “wavestate” for external control. Typically this program is automatically loaded when the Keystage 61 is turned on. However, you can load Program 0 by going through the following steps:

  • First press the [EXIT] button to access the main screen, then turn the [VALUE] knob until “Program 0” is loaded.
  • Press the [EXIT] button once more, then hold down the [SHIFT] button and press the PAGE [ – ] or [ + ] buttons to step through all the available scenes until you see “wavestate” displayed on the screen.

HOST CONNECTION

  • Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the Keystage 61 is enabled as a MIDI input device.

OMNISPHERE SETUP

  • Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
  • From the drop-down menu, select “Korg > Korg Keystage 61” to activate the Keystage 61 hardware profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Not working? Here are some things to try:

  • Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the Keystage 61?
  • Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the Keystage 61 to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
  • If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the Keystage 61 matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
