Setup
To control Omnisphere using the Launch Control, you’ll need to do the following:
- Connect the Launch Control to your computer via USB.
- Set up the Launch Control to control Omnisphere.
- Enable the Launch Control as a MIDI input device in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).
- Activate the Launch Control Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.
LAUNCH CONTROL SETUP
Omnisphere relies on the factory default settings of a User Template in the Launch Control.
- If you haven’t customized any User Templates on the Launch Control, then you can simply press and hold the [USER] button then press the first pad. This will load the first User template on the Launch Control which allows you to control Omnisphere’s parameters.
- If you have customized one of the 8 User Templates on the Launch Control, you can simply load any User Template that has not been customized.
- If you have customized all eight User Templates then you’ll need to use Novation’s Components application to create a new User Template that is using the factory default settings for all the knobs, and buttons and then send that User Template to the Launch Control.
HOST CONNECTION
- Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the Launch Control is enabled as a MIDI input device.
OMNISPHERE SETUP
- Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
- From the drop-down menu, select “Novation > Novation Launch Control” to activate the Launch Control hardware profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Not working? Here are some things to try:
- Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the Launch Control?
- Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the Launch Control to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
- If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the Launch Control matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
- Are the knobs and buttons on the Launch Control sending the correct MIDI CC messages to control Omnisphere? See the list at the top of the page for the correct MIDI CC numbers.
