LAUNCH CONTROL XL mk1 SETUP

Omnisphere relies on the factory default settings of a User Template in the Launch Control XL mk1.

  • If you haven’t customized any User Templates on the Launch Control XL mk1, then you can simply press and hold the [USER] button then press the first pad. This will load the first User template on the Launch Control XL mk1 which allows you to control Omnisphere’s parameters.
  • If you have customized one of the 8 User Templates on the Launch Control XL mk1, you can simply load any User Template that has not been customized.
  • If you have customized all eight User Templates then you’ll need to use Novation’s Components application to create a new User Template that is using the factory default settings for all the knobs, and buttons and then send that User Template to the Launch Control XL mk1.

HOST CONNECTION

  • Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the Launch Control XL mk1 is enabled as a MIDI input device.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Not working? Here are some things to try:

  • Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the Launch Control XL mk1?
  • Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the Launch Control XL mk1 to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
  • If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the Launch Control XL mk1 matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
  • Are the knobs and buttons on the Launch Control XL mk1 sending the correct MIDI CC messages to control Omnisphere? See the list at the top of the page for the correct MIDI CC numbers.
