LAUNCH CONTROL XL mk3 SETUP

Omnisphere relies on the factory default settings of a Custom Mode on the Launch Control XL mk3 for external control.

  • If you haven’t modified any of the Custom Modes/ User Templates on your Launch Control XL mk3, then you can activate the first Custom Mode by pressing the [MODE] button and then press button #1.
  • If you have modified the Custom Modes/ User Templates on your Launch Control XL mk3, then you can simply activate any of the other Custom Modes that have not been modified yet by pressing any button corresponding to an unused Custom Mode (any buttons #1-15).
  • If you have modified all available Custom Modes on the Launch Control XL mk3, then you’ll need to use Novation’s Component editor application to reset one of the Custom Modes back to factory default settings and then load that Custom Mode on the Launch Control XL mk3 to control Omnisphere.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Not working? Here are some things to try:

  • Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the Launch Control XL mk3?
  • Is your Launch Control XL mk3 up-to-date with the latest firmware? You can check by using Novation’s Components app and update the firmware if needed.
  • Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the Launch Control XL mk3 to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
  • If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the Launch Control XL mk3 matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
  • Are the knobs, faders, and buttons on the Launch Control XL mk3 sending the correct MIDI CC messages to control Omnisphere? Please see the list at the top of the page for the correct MIDI CC numbers. If you need to reassign any MIDI CC numbers for the knobs, faders, or buttons, you can do so by using Novation’s Components editor application.
