When using the Novation Launchkey Mini mk1 to control Omnisphere, the knobs and buttons on the Launchkey Mini mk1 are assigned to the following Omnisphere parameters:

  • Knob 1 (CC#21) – Global Controls Cutoff
  • Knob 2 (CC#22) – Global Controls Resonance
  • Knob 3 (CC#23) – Global Controls Filter Envelope Amount
  • Knob 4 (CC#24) – Global Controls Vibrato Depth
  • Knob 5 (CC#25) – Global Controls Ambience Amount
  • Knob 6 (CC#26) – Global Controls Ambience Length
  • Knob 7 (CC#27) – Global Controls Unison
  • Knob 8 (CC#28) – Global Controls Glide
  • Round Button Top (CC#104) – Browser Up / Previous Patch
  • Round Button Bottom (CC#105) – Browser Down / Next Patch

Setup

To control Omnisphere using the Launchkey Mini mk1, you’ll need to do the following:

  1. Connect the Launchkey Mini mk1 to your computer via USB.
  2. Set up the Launchkey Mini mk1 to control Omnisphere.
  3. Enable the Launchkey Mini mk1 as a MIDI input device in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).
  4. Activate the Launchkey Mini mk1 Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.

Launchkey Mini mk1 SETUP

Omnisphere relies on the the Launchkey Mini mk1 to be in “Basic MIDI Mode” for external control.

  • To set this up, simply press and release the “InControl” buttons located on the LaunchKey to the left of the Knobs and Pads. You’re in Basic MIDI Mode when the LED light for this button is OFF.

HOST CONNECTION

  • Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the Launchkey Mini mk1 is enabled as a MIDI input device.

OMNISPHERE SETUP

  • Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
  • From the drop-down menu, select “Novation > Novation Launchkey Mini mk1” to activate the Launchkey Mini mk1 hardware profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Not working? Here are some things to try:

  • Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the Launchkey Mini mk1?
  • Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the Launchkey Mini mk1 to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
  • If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the Launchkey Mini mk1 matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
