Setup

To control Omnisphere using the Maschine Jam, you’ll need to do the following:

  1. Connect the Maschine Jam to your computer via USB.
  2. Enable the Maschine Jam as a MIDI input device in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).
  3. Activate the Maschine Jam Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.

HOST CONNECTION

  • Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the Maschine Jam is enabled as a MIDI input device.

OMNISPHERE SETUP

  • Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
  • From the drop-down menu, select “Native Instruments > NI Maschine Jam” to activate the Maschine Jam Hardware Profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Not working? Here are some things to try:

  • Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the Maschine Jam?
  • Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the Maschine Jam to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere. See the list at the top of the page for the correct MIDI CC numbers.
  • If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the Maschine Jam matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
  • Still not able to control Omnisphere’s parameters using the knobs on your Maschine Jam? In order to use the NI Maschine Jam as a MIDI controller for Omnisphere, you’ll need to disconnect the Maschine Jam from any Maschine software instance, otherwise MIDI messages from the Maschine Jam will be intercepted by the Maschine software.
