To control Omnisphere using the Maschine Studio, you’ll need to do the following:
- Connect the Maschine Studio to your computer via USB.
- Download and install the Native Instruments USB-MIDI Driver.
- Set up the Maschine Studio to control Omnisphere.
- Enable the Maschine Studio as a MIDI input device in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).

USB DRIVER
- If you’re on Mac, you won’t need to download a USB driver and can move on to the steps in the next section under “MASCHINE Studio SETUP.”
- If you’re on Windows, you’ll need to download the Maschine Studio Driver. FIrst, you can check to see if the necessary USB driver has already been installed by opening up the Omnisphere Standalone (or your preferred DAW) and verify the Maschine Studio is on your list of MIDI inputs.
- If your Maschine Studio is not on your list of MIDI inputs, access the Native Instruments website to download and install the Native Instruments USB-MIDI Driver.
MASCHINE STUDIO SETUP
Omnisphere relies on the factory default settings of the Maschine Studio while in “MIDI Mode.”
- You can enable “MIDI Mode” on the Maschine Studio by pressing the [SHIFT] button and [CHANNEL/ MIDI] button.
HOST CONNECTION
- Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the Maschine Studio is enabled as a MIDI input device.
OMNISPHERE SETUP
- Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
- From the drop-down menu, select “Native Instruments > NI Maschine Studio” to activate the Maschine Studio hardware profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Not working? Here are some things to try:
- Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the Maschine Studio?
- Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the Maschine Studio to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
- If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the Maschine Studio matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
