Setup
To control Omnisphere using the microSTATION, you’ll need to do the following:
- Connect the microSTATION to your computer via USB.
- Download and install the Korg USB-MIDI Driver.
- Set up the microSTATION to control Omnisphere.
- Enable the microSTATION as a MIDI input device in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).
- Activate the microSTATION Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.
USB DRIVER
Korg devices require a USB-MIDI Driver when connecting to any Windows operating systems or to Mac OS 10.10 through 10.14.
- You can check to see if the necessary USB driver has already been installed by opening up the Omnisphere Standalone (or your preferred DAW) and verify the microSTATION is on your list of MIDI inputs.
- If your microSTATION is not on your list of MIDI inputs, access the Korg website to download and install the Korg USB-MIDI Driver.
MICROSTATION SETUP
Omnisphere relies on the default settings for the first External Setup named “KLC M1.
Here’s how to load the KLC: M1 External Setup on the microSTATION:
- Press the [EXTERNAL] button.
- Navigate to the “PROG EDIT: External Setup” menu.
- Select the first setup named “KLC: M1.”
- Make sure the knobs are in “External” Mode. The knob will be in “External” when the LED indicator light next to the [EXTERNAL] button is lit.
HOST CONNECTION
- Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the microSTATION is enabled as a MIDI input device.
OMNISPHERE SETUP
- Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
- From the drop-down menu, select “Korg > Korg microSTATION” to activate the microSTATION hardware profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Not working? Here are some things to try:
- Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the microSTATION?
- Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the microSTATION to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
- If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the microSTATION matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control. See the list at he top of the page.
