Setup

To control Omnisphere using the MiniLab mk2, you’ll need to do the following:

  1. Connect the MiniLab mk2 to your computer via USB.
  2. Set up the MiniLab mk2 to control Omnisphere.
  3. Enable the MiniLab mk2 as a MIDI input device in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).
  4. Activate the MiniLab mk2 Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.

MINILAB MK2 SETUP

Omnisphere relies on the factory default settings of a User Preset in the MiniLab mk2.

  • If you haven’t customized any User Presets on the MiniLab mk2, then you can simply load the first User Preset by holding the [SHIFT] button and pressing the drum pad #1.
  • If you have customized one of the eight User Presets on the MiniLab mk2, you can simply load any other User Preset that has not been customized.
  • If you have customized all eight User Presets then you’ll need to use Arturia’s MIDI Control Center to create a new User Preset that is using the factory default settings for all the knobs and sliders, and then send that User Preset to the MiniLab mk2. Please see the list at the top of the page for the correct MIDI CC numbers.

HOST CONNECTION

  • Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the MiniLab mk2 is enabled as a MIDI input device.

OMNISPHERE SETUP

  • Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
  • From the drop-down menu, select “Arturia > Arturia MiniLab mk2” to activate the MiniLab mk2 hardware profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Not working? Here are some things to try:

  • Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the MiniLab mk2?
  • Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the MiniLab mk2 to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
  • If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the MiniLab mk2 matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
  • Is your User Preset setup so that the knobs send the correct MIDI CC#s used to control Omnisphere? You can check this by reviewing the Settings on your MiniLab mk2 or connecting your MiniLab mk2 to Arturia’s MIDI Control Center application and review your User Preset there. Please see the list at the top of the page for the correct MIDI CC numbers.
