Setup

To control Omnisphere using the Nord Wave 2, you’ll need to do the following:

  • Connect the Nord Wave 2 to your MIDI interface.
  • Set up the Nord Wave 2’s front panel controls to send MIDI.
  • Enable the Nord Wave 2 as a MIDI input device to Omnisphere in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).
  • Activate the Nord Wave 2 Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.

MIDI OUTPUT SETUP

  • Enter MIDI Mode by holding down the SHIFT button and pressing the MIDI button.
  • Use the PAGE buttons to navigate the various menus.
  • Set the MIDI Control Change page “Send & Receive”

HOST CONNECTION

Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the MIDI interface is enabled as the MIDI input.

OMNISPHERE SETUP

Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button:

From the drop-down menu, select “Nord>Nord Wave 2” to activate that hardware profile.


Unassigned Controls

The following Nord Wave 2 controls have no effect on Omnisphere:

  • Morph
  • Program Section
  • Oscillator Category
  • Oscillator Waveform
  • Osc Ctrl
  • Amp Env Attack Transient
  • Effects Rate Mst Clk
  • Parametric EQ
  • Group
  • Wheel Assign

Troubleshooting

Not working? Here are some things to try:

  • Is your host receiving MIDI from the Nord Wave 2?
  • If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the Nord Wave 2 matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
  • Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the Nord Wave 2 to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired Part in Omnisphere.
