Setup

To control Omnisphere using the NTK-49, you’ll need to do the following:

  1. Connect the NTK-49 to your computer via USB.
  2. Set up the NTK-49 to control Omnisphere.
  3. Enable the NTK-49 as a MIDI input device in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).
  4. Activate the NTK-49 Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.

NTK-49 SETUP

Omnisphere relies on the second bank of knobs and faders and the factory default settings of a Scene on the NTK-49 while in MIDI Mode for external control.

Here’s how to set this up:

  • First, enable MIDI Mode by pressing the [MIDI] button on the NTK-49.

Next, you’ll need to load a Scene.

  • If you haven’t customized any Scene on the NTK-37, then you can move on to next steps under “HOST CONNECTION.”
  • If you have customized one of the 16 Scenes on the NTK-49, you can simply load an unused Scene that has not been customized by long-pressing the [MIDI] button to enter the “Scene” settings, then use the 5-way master encoder to select the unused Scene.
  • If you have customized all 16 Scenes then you’ll need to use NUX’s NTKEditor to reset a Scene back the factory default settings and then send that Scene to the NTK-49. See the list at the top of the page for the correct MIDI CC#s.
  • Lastly, enable the 2nd Bank of knobs by pressing the [SHIFT] + [BACK] buttons.

HOST CONNECTION

  • Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the NTK-49 is enabled as a MIDI input device.

OMNISPHERE SETUP

  • Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
  • From the drop-down menu, select “NUX > NUX NTK-49” to activate the NTK-49 hardware profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Not working? Here are some things to try:

  • Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the NTK-49?
  • Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the NTK-49 to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
  • If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the NTK-49 matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
