Setup

To control Omnisphere using the Oxygen 49, you’ll need to do the following:

  1. Connect the Oxygen 49 to your computer’s MIDI interface.
  2. Setup the Oxygen 49 to control Omnisphere.
  3. Enable the Oxygen 49 as a MIDI input device in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).
  4. Activate the Oxygen 49 Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.

Oxygen 49 SETUP

Omnisphere relies on the default settings of Preset 1 on the Oxygen 49 for external control.

  • Typically, Preset 1 is activated as soon as the Oxygen 49 is turned on. If needed, you can change presets by pressing the Preset [ – ] or [ + ] buttons until Preset “01” is dislayed.

HOST CONNECTION

  • Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the Oxygen 49 is enabled as a MIDI input device.

OMNISPHERE SETUP

  • Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
  • From the drop-down menu, select “M-Audio > M-Audio Oxygen 49 (Silver)” to activate the Oxygen 49 Hardware Profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Not working? Here are some things to try:

I* s your DAW receiving MIDI from the Oxygen 49?

  • Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the Oxygen 49 to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
  • If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the Oxygen 49 matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
  • Are the knobs on the Oxygen 49 sending the correct MIDI CC messages to control Omnisphere? A simple way to check this is by using MIDI Monitor by Snoize or recording knob movement in your DAW and check to see if the MIDI CC number for each knob matches the MIDI CC#s listed above.

NOTE: The M-Audio Enigma editor application is not supported on current operating systems. You’ll need to use an older computer to use the M-Audio Enigma editor app.
