  • Next, configure the PC3A to send MIDI via USB by pressing the [MIDI] button and then change the “Destination:” parameter to “USB_MIDI.”

HOST CONNECTION

  • Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the PC3A is enabled as a MIDI input device.

OMNISPHERE SETUP

  • Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
  • From the drop-down menu, select “Kurzweil > Kurzweil PC3A” to activate the PC3A hardware profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Not working? Here are some things to try:

  • Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the PC3A?
  • Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the PC3A to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
  • If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of Zone 1 on the PC3A matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
  • Are the sliders on the PC3A sending the correct MIDI CC messages used to control Omnisphere?

Here’s how to check:

  1. Go to the “MIDI XMIT” page by pressing the [MIDI] button and pressing the “XMIT” soft button.
  2. Highlight Control Setup”: “126 Internal Voices.”
  3. Press “EDIT” then select the “more” soft button.
  4. Select each slider one at a time and make sure they are assigned to the default MIDI CC#s listed at the top of the page.
