Setup

To control Omnisphere using the Pro 3, you’ll need to do the following:

  • Connect the Pro 3 to your computer via USB.
  • Set up the Pro 3’s front panel controls to send NRPNs.
  • Activate the Pro 3 Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.
  • Set up Omnisphere to work with the Pro 3 Touch Sliders (optional).

MIDI OUTPUT SETUP

  • Press the Global button on the Pro-3’s panel.
  • Scroll though the Global parameters to “7. MIDI Param Send” and set it to “NRPN.”

  • Lastly set “12. MIDI Out Select” to “All.”


HOST CONNECTION

Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the Pro 3 is enabled as a MIDI input device.

OMNISPHERE SETUP

Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button:

From the drop-down menu, select “Sequential>Sequential Pro 3” to activate that hardware profile.

TOUCH SLIDERS SETUP (optional)

The Pro 3 has a touch sliders that serves as a modulation source. This source appears in the Pro 3’s modulation matrix as Slider, and you can set up Omnisphere to respond to it.

Go to Omnisphere’s System Page and in the Modulation assignments section, click on the User CC menu, select “Move MIDI Controller” and touch the Slider in the Pro 3.

The User CC menu should display “CC 14.”

To use the touch slider as a modulation source, press and hold ASSIGN MOD SOURCE on the Pro 3 and touch it.


Profile Notes

  • LFO1 in the Pro 3 is assigned to Global Vibrato in Omnisphere. As a result, the LFO1 DESTINATION and SHAPE controls are unassigned, and it’s not supported as a source in the Mod Matrix.
  • EFFECTS MIX in the Pro 3 are assigned to Global Ambience Amount.
  • EFFECTS PARAM 1 in the Pro 3 are assigned to Global Ambience Length.
  • EFFECTS PARAM 2 in the Pro 3 is assigned to Global Tone Low.
  • EFFECTS PARAM 3 in the Pro 3 is assigned to Global Tone High.
  • EXT AUDIO controls Global Limiter.

The following Pro 3 controls have no effect on Omnisphere:

  • Effect Type
  • Show Effects
  • Revert
  • Write
  • Show
  • Compare
  • Misc. Parameters
  • Play List
  • Bank
  • Program
  • Arp/Sequencer Section
  • Amp Amount
  • LFO1 Destination
  • LFO1 Shape

Troubleshooting

Not working? Here are some things to try:

  • Make sure the GLOBAL button is deselected on the Pro 3.
  • Is your host receiving MIDI from the Pro 3?
