Setup

To control Omnisphere using the Radium49, you’ll need to do the following:

  1. Connect the Radium49 to your MIDI interface.
  2. Set up the Radium49 to control Omnisphere.
  3. Enable the Radium49 as a MIDI input device in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).
  4. Activate the Radium49 Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.

RADIUM49 SETUP

Omnisphere relies on the default preset named “01 General MIDI” on the Radium49 for external control.

  • This preset is typically already loaded when the unit is turned on, you can confirm that the “General MIDI” is loaded if “P1” is displayed on the LCD screen. If another Preset is loaded, press the [MIDI/ SELECT] button then press the [Up] or [Down] buttons to choose “P1” then press the [MIDI/ SELECT] button once more.

HOST CONNECTION

  • Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the Radium49 is enabled as a MIDI input device.

OMNISPHERE SETUP

  • Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
  • From the drop-down menu, select “M-Audio > M-Audio Radium49” to activate the Radium49 hardware profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Not working? Here are some things to try:

  • Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the Radium49?
  • Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the Radium49 to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
  • If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the Radium49 matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
  • Are the knobs and sliders on the Radium49 sending the correct MIDI CC messages to control Omnisphere? A simple way to check this is by using MIDI Monitor by Snoize or recording knob movement in your DAW.
