
When using the Donner STARRYKEY 37 to control Omnisphere, the knobs on the STARRYKEY 37 are assigned to the following Omnisphere parameters:
- Knob 1 (CC#24) – Global Controls Cutoff
- Knob 2 (CC#25) – Global Controls Resonance
- Knob 3 (CC#26) – Global Controls Filter Envelope Amount
- Knob 4 (CC#27) – Global Controls Vibrato Depth
- Knob 5 (CC#28) – Global Controls Ambience Amount
- Knob 6 (CC#29) – Global Controls Ambience Length
- Knob 7 (CC#30) – Global Controls Unison
- Knob 8 (CC#31) – Global Controls Glide
- Button 1 (CC#46) – Global Controls Browser Down / Next Patch
- Button 2 (CC#47) – Global Controls Browser Up / Previous Patch
Setup
To control Omnisphere using the STARRYKEY 37, you’ll need to do the following:
- Connect the STARRYKEY 37 to your computer via USB.
- Set up the STARRYKEY 37 to control Omnisphere.
- Enable the STARRYKEY 37 as a MIDI input device in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).
- Activate the STARRYKEY 37 Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.
STARRYKEY 37 SETUP
Omnisphere relies on factory default settings of the STARRYKEY 37 for external control.
- If you have not customized the MIDI CC#s of the knobs on the STARRYKEY 37 then you can move on to the next steps under “HOST CONNECTION.”
- If you have customized the knobs of your STARRYKEY 37, please connect your STARRYKEY 37 to the Donner STARRYKEY 37 application and reset the knobs to match the correct MIDI CC#s listed at the top of the page.
HOST CONNECTION
- Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the STARRYKEY 37 is enabled as a MIDI input device.
OMNISPHERE SETUP
- Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
- From the drop-down menu, select “Donner > Donner STARRYKEY 37” to activate the STARRYKEY 37 Hardware Profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Not working? Here are some things to try:
- Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the STARRYKEY 37?
- Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the STARRYKEY 37 to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
- If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the STARRYKEY 37 matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
- Are the knobs on the STARRYKEY 37 sending the correct MIDI CC#s used to control Omnisphere? A simple way to check this is by using MIDI Monitor by Snoize or recording knob movement in your DAW. See the list at the top of the page for the correct MIDI CC#s.
