Setup

To control Omnisphere using the Sequential Take 5, you’ll need to do the following:

  • Connect the Take 5.
  • Set up the front panel of the Take 5 to send NRPNs via USB.
  • Enable “Sequential Take 5” as a MIDI input device in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).
  • Activate the Sequential Take 5 Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.

MIDI OUTPUT SETUP

  • Press the GLOBAL button on the front panel.
  • Use the SELECT knob to navigate to parameter “MIDI Param Snd”.
  • Use the VALUE knob to set it to NRPN.
  • Then, navigate to “MIDI Arp Notes” and set it to “OFF”
  • Press the GLOBAL button again to exit the menu and save the changes.

HOST CONNECTION

Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the Sequential Take 5 is enabled as a MIDI input device.

OMNISPHERE SETUP

Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button:

From the drop-down menu, select “Sequential>Sequential Take 5” to activate that Hardware Profile.


Profile Notes

  • ENV 1 is assigned to Omnisphere’s Global Filter Envelope
  • ENV 2 is assigned to Omnisphere’s Global Amp Envelope

Unassigned Controls

The following Sequential Take 5 control has no effect on Omnisphere:

Troubleshooting

Not working? Here are some things to try: 

  • Make sure the GLOBAL button is deselected on the Take 5.
  • Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the Sequential Take 5?
  • If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the Take 5 matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
  • Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the Take 5 to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired Part in Omnisphere.
  • Are you using a USB hub? Try connecting your Take 5 or MIDI Interface directly to your computer.
