Setup

To control Omnisphere using the Laboratory, you’ll need to do the following:

  1. Connect the Laboratory to your computer via USB.
  2. Setup the Laboratory to control Omnisphere
  3. Enable the Laboratory as a MIDI input device in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).
  4. Activate the Laboratory Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.

THE LABORATORY SETUP

Omnisphere relies on the factory default settings of the Laboratory.

  • If you have customized the knobs and sliders on the Laboratory, please connect the Laboratory to Arturia’s MIDI Control Center application and return the knobs and sliders to their default settings. See the list above for the correct MIDI CC numbers.

HOST CONNECTION

  • Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the Laboratory is enabled as a MIDI input device.

OMNISPHERE SETUP

  • Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
  • From the drop-down menu, select “Arturia > Arturia Laboratory” to activate the Laboratory Hardware Profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Not working? Here are some things to try:

  • Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the Laboratory?
  • Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the Laboratory to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
  • If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the Laboratory matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
  • Are the knobs and faders on the Laboratory sending the correct MIDI CC#s used to control Omnisphere? You can check this by reviewing the Settings on your Laboratory or connecting your Laboratory to Arturia’s MIDI Control Center application and review your User Preset there. See the list at the top of the page for the correct MIDI CC numbers.
