Setup

To control Omnisphere using the Player, you’ll need to do the following:

  1. Connect the Player to your computer via USB.
  2. Setup the Player to control Omnisphere
  3. Enable the Player as a MIDI input device in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).
  4. Activate the Player Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.

THE PLAYER SETUP

Omnisphere relies on the factory default settings of the Player.

  • If you have customized the knobs and sliders on the Player, please connect the Player to Arturia’s MIDI Control Center application and return the knobs and sliders to their default settings. See the list above for the correct MIDI CC numbers.
  • By default, Bank 1 of the knobs will be enabled. If you’d like to control Envelope controls (ADSR) for both Amp and Filter, press the [SHIFT] button and turn either of the Envelope knobs on The Player controller.
  • If you’d like to remotely step through Omnisphere’s Patches from The Player controller, simply press the [SHIFT] button then press the Octave [-] button for Browser Down / Next Patch and Octave [+] for Browser Up / Previous Patch.

HOST CONNECTION

  • Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the Player is enabled as a MIDI input device.

OMNISPHERE SETUP

  • Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
  • From the drop-down menu, select “Arturia > Arturia Player” to activate the Player Hardware Profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Not working? Here are some things to try:

  • Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the Player?
  • Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the Player to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
  • If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the Player matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
  • Are the knobs and faders on the Player sending the correct MIDI CC#s used to control Omnisphere? You can check this by reviewing the Settings on your Player or connecting your Player to Arturia’s MIDI Control Center application and review your User Preset there. See the list at the top of the page for the correct MIDI CC numbers.
