Setup

To control Omnisphere using the UC3, you’ll need to do the following:

  1. Connect the UC3 to your computer via USB.
  2. Setup the UC3 to control Omnisphere.
  3. Enable the UC3 as a MIDI input device in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).
  4. Activate the UC3 Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.

UC3 SETUP

Omnisphere relies on the factory default settings of Setup #1 on the UC3.

  • To make sure your FaderFox EC3 has Setup #1 engaged simply hold down either of the the [Shift] buttons then press down on Knob #1.

HOST CONNECTION

  • Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the UC3 is enabled as a MIDI input device.

OMNISPHERE SETUP

  • Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
  • From the drop-down menu, select “FaderFox >FaderFox UC3” to activate the UC3 Hardware Profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Not working? Here are some things to try:

  • Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the UC3?
  • Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the UC3 to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
  • If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the UC3 matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
  • Are the knobs and faders on the UC3 sending the correct MIDI CC#s used to control Omnisphere? A simple way to check this is by using MIDI Monitor by Snoize or recording knob movement in your DAW. See the list at the top of the page for the correct MIDI CC#s.

NOTE: If you need to change the MIDI CC assignments, you can do so from the UC3. Please refer to the FaderFox UC3 user manual for more details. As a last ditch effort, you can reset the FaderFox EC3 back to factory settings by holding down Knobs 1 and 2 simultaneously for 5 seconds.
