  1. Connect the VBoard 25 to your computer via USB.
  2. Enable the VBoard 25 as a MIDI input device in the host software you’re using (DAW, Standalone, etc.).
  3. Activate the VBoard 25 Hardware Profile in Omnisphere 3 or later.

HOST CONNECTION

  • Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the VBoard 25 is enabled as a MIDI input device.

OMNISPHERE SETUP

  • Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
  • From the drop-down menu, select “MIDIPlus > MIDIPlus VBoard 25” to activate the VBoard 25 Hardware Profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Not working? Here are some things to try:

  • Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the VBoard 25?
  • Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the VBoard 25 to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
  • Are the knobs on the VBoard 25 sending the correct MIDI CC messages to control Omnisphere? A simple way to check this is by using MIDI Monitor by Snoize or recording knob movement in your DAW. See the list at the top of the page for the correct MIDI CC#s.

NOTE: If needed, a quick way to return the knobs back to their default MIDI CC assignments is to reset the VBoard 25. To do so, simply turn OFF the VBoard 25, then hold down the [Oct+] and [Oct-} buttons while turning the VBoard back ON. You can release the Octave buttons once the LCD screen displays “rES.”
