ALESIS VORTEX WIRELESS 2 SETUP

Omnisphere relies on the factory default settings of a Preset on the Alesis Vortex Wireless 2 for external control.

  • If you haven’t customized any Presets on the Vortex Wireless 2, then you can move on to the next steps under “HOST CONNECTION.”
  • If you have customized any of the 25 available Presets on the Vortex Wireless 2, you can simply load a new / unused Preset that has not been customized using the Preset UP/DOWN ± buttons.
  • If you have customized all available Presets on the Vortex Wireless 2 then you’ll need to use the Alesis Vortex Wireless 2 Preset Editor to make a Preset that match each fader to the MIDI CC#s at the top of the page.

HOST CONNECTION

  • Open your host (DAW, Standalone, etc.) and make sure the Vortex Wireless 2 is enabled as a MIDI input device.

OMNISPHERE SETUP

  • Open Omnisphere and from the header, select the HW menu button.
  • From the drop-down menu, select “Alesis > Alesis Vortex Wireless 2 mk2” to activate the Vortex Wireless 2 Hardware Profile.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Not working? Here are some things to try:

  • Is your DAW receiving MIDI from the Vortex Wireless 2 mk2?
  • Make sure your DAW is configured to correctly route the MIDI output of the Vortex Wireless 2 to the MIDI channel assigned to the desired part in Omnisphere.
  • If you are using the Omnisphere standalone host, make sure the MIDI output channel of the Vortex Wireless 2 matches the MIDI channel of the Omnisphere Part you want to control.
