The Korg Monologue is a budget analog synth is ideal for users with a small footprint studio or those who want something light and portable. They look simple but they have enough features to make cool sounds and they even have a Cross Mod Depth control. The Delay controls are a lot of fun and feel like tweaking an Analog Delay pedal. Mini keys and no sustain pedal input are certainly limitations, but they’re able to have more octaves in a smaller footprint. Even though it has a single LFO, we set it up so when you are controlling Omnisphere you can control three LFOs — one for each destination. At the moment there are a few downsides — the Voice Modes and the Arpeggiator don’t send MIDI — but overall they are still good Omnisphere controllers and a lot of fun to use!

Korg Monologue Strengths:

  • Small and Portable
  • Easy to use
  • Surprisingly Capable
  • Nice Budget Analog Synth
