Control of Omnisphere

Ease of Use
Build Quality

It may not look like it, but there’s quite a lot that can be done with the JX-03’s features. Even though you can only control two of Omnisphere’s Layers, the different Sync and Metal modes in the second Oscillator can create interesting results. The controls are small, but it’s USB-powered, easy-to-carry, doesn’t take up much space on your desk, and it’s very low-priced. It really has the vibe of the JX-3P, too. This is also a good option if you like the layout of the vintage Roland PG-300 Programmer.

Roland JX-03 Strengths:

  • Ultra Compact and USB-powered
  • Unison mode + Classic Chorus
  • Cross-Mod/Sync/Metal modes
  • Classic JX-3P Vibe
  • Low Price
