The Roland SH-01A is great for bass and you can use it with all kinds of Patches to control the level of Omnisphere’s four Layers. You can also detune the first two using the tuning knob and the sequencer sends the notes via MIDI. The controls are larger on this Boutique model, so they feel pretty good. If you want basic controls like Layer mix, Filter, Envelopes, and basic modulation in a highly portable, USB-powered synth for a reasonable price this is a very good choice.
Roland SH-01A Strengths:
- Easy to Use, Classic Layout
- Step Sequencer
- Ultra-Portable
- Nice-feeling controls
- Low Price
