Once REX Files have been imported, you can reorganize the Suites and Sound Directories in several different ways.
- Create new Sound Directories.
- Move Suites from one Sound Directory to another.
- Rename or Delete existing Sound Directories.
- Rename or Delete existing Suites.
NOTE: All of this management takes place in the SAGE/SAGE Libraries/User Libraries Directory on your computer. You don’t perform any of these functions from the RMX interface.

In the following explanations, we’ll use the above Directory as a starting point.
NOTE: To view any of the following changes inside RMX, you must remove any active instance of RMX and then reopen it. RMX will then rescan the Directories and reflect the changes.
CREATING A NEW SOUND DIRECTORY
Creating a new Sound Directory is easy. Simply create a new folder in the User Libraries Directory and give it a custom name. For a Sound Directory to appear in the Sound Directory menu, it must have at least one valid Suite. If there is something wrong with the Suite, you will not be able to select the Sound Directory.
In this example, a new Sound Directory called “Action Grooves” has been created. However, since it is still empty, it will not appear yet in RMX:
MOVING SUITES FROM ONE SOUND DIRECTORY TO ANOTHER
Suites must reside in a Sound Directory, they cannot function on their own. Moving a Suite from one Sound Directory to another simply requires moving the desired folders from one Sound Directory to another.
In the example below, the Suites “Rundown 155” and “SLASHER 185” have been moved to the “Action Grooves” Sound Directory:

NOTE: To make a Suite into its own Sound Directory, you must create a Sound Directory first and then move the Suite into it. Simply moving a Suite one directory level up will not work because the structure for the Sound Directory will not be correct.
RENAMING EXISTING SOUND DIRECTORIES
Giving a Sound Directory a new name is accomplished by renaming the folder. You can rename any User-imported Sound Directory, including “Converted REX Files.”
In the example, you can see that we’ve renamed “Converted REX Files” to “Slow and Funky.”
When you perform future conversions, RMX will automatically create another “Converted REX Files” Sound Directory, if necessary. You can always rename that one, as well.
RENAMING EXISTING SUITES
You can rename any User-imported Suite.
In the picture below, you can see that we have renamed the two Suites inside the “Slow and Funky” Sound Directory:

DELETING EXISTING IMPORTED SUITES AND SOUND DIRECTORIES
You can delete converted Suites and Sound Directories by simply trashing them on your computer.
However, DON’T delete individual Elements! This will break the Suite and cause problems. See the next section on the correct way to manage Elements.
DELETING, RENAMING, MOVING, & UPDATING IMPORTED ELEMENTS
Although it’s not possible to do these functions using your computer’s file management system without causing problems, there is another way to accomplish these functions at the Element level:
Simply do what you need to do to the original REX files, delete the previously imported Suites or Sound Directory in the SAGE folder, and re-import the REX files. The import process is extremely fast—especially with batch conversion methods.
