For such a tiny synth, the Roland JP-08 gives you a decent amount of control over Omnisphere — LFO, two Oscillators, two Filters, and two Envelopes. It’s a good choice if you want to have a lot of control in a very small footprint sitting next to your main keyboard or need something highly portable and USB-powered. That said, the controls are very small and they don’t have a lot of resolution, so unfortunately, the feel is pretty bad. Other than these limitations, it’s a great little controller for a couple hundred dollara and it really has that classic Jupiter 8 vibe when used with Omnisphere!

Roland JP-08 Strengths:

  • Ultra Compact and Highly Portable
  • Dual/Unison modes
  • Cross-Mod
  • Jupiter 8 Vibe
  • USB-powered
